We carry out boiler service and maintenance for many of our wood chip and wood pellets customers. Like any other boiler – or even your car – an annual service is important to keep the system running efficiently.

Annual Biomass Boiler Service Details 

Please turn off your boiler 16 hours before our engineer is due to arrive at your site which will allow the system to cool down for servicing access. 

During our annual service and safety inspection we will:

Check the boiler’s fault log and repair faults

Z

Examine and clean heat exchanger 

Z

Test and clean fuel store and boiler augers 

Z

Clear primary and secondary air ports of carbon build-up 

Z

Inspect and clean boiler draught fan system 

Z

Inspect all mechanical seals 

Z

Check anti-burnback & all other safety systems are operational 

Z

Check combustion chamber, including refractory blocks, grates, stoker and ash augers 

Z

Check control panel hardware and PCB electrical connections 

Z

Test, run and check operation of all boiler systems 

Z

Remove and clean your turbulators 

Z

Inspect and sweep the boiler flue 

Z

Perform a flue gas analysis to check combustion efficiency 

Z

Check the system water for PH and inhibitor levels 

Z

Give you an inspection report with advice on any  remedial work 

Z

Inspect and test ignition device 

Z

Check and lubricate motors, chains and bearings with the correct heat zone lubricant 

Accredited Engineers

Our engineers are accredited to work on several brands of biomass systems including ETA and Gilles, and we are planning to increase the number of brands we cover. This is important if you need to make a claim under a guarantee on any faulty boiler parts. If we are not accredited to service the brand of boiler installed at your location, we will do our best to locate another installer to help you. 

 

Remote Monitoring

If you have a broadband connection at your property, we can install a device which allows our computers to monitor how well your biomass system is working. So, if your system develops a fault, we may be able to diagnose the issue within a few minutes of the problem arising. In some instances, our engineer can solve the problem without you having to pay for a call-out charge. 

With our remote monitoring gadget in place, you will be able to view the same real-time information as we see, if you wish to do so. All you need is a smartphone, tablet or desktop computer. 

Even when you’re away from your property, the app will give you information such as how many pellets are in your store, so you’ll always know whether you need to order more fuel.
